Most people think of golf as a rich man’s leisure activity or a sport dominated by a handful of incredible talents like Tiger Woods. That idea doesn’t leave much room for someone wanting to turn a love of golf into a lifelong career. If they can’t make it on the professional tour, they figure they’ll end up a car salesman working next to the high school football star who also failed to live the dream.
The reality is that there are actually a multitude of job opportunities out there for someone with some talent in the sport and skills obtained from attending golf career college . Most golf degree programs are for golf management, but students learn more than how to manage a golf course. Graduates go on to compete in tournaments around the world, teach golf or even coach the next generation of golf stars.
For those who don’t believe there’s money to be made in a golf career, consider that in 2005 golf was a $76 billion industry, in the US alone. Then think about the fact that there are approximately 2 millions golf-related jobs in the US with a combined wage of $61 billion. Maybe a golf degree doesn’t sound so crazy after all.

US Open Tennis scores with Maria Sharapova’s deep purple dress for her night matches and her familiar Nike Striking Court Day Dress from Nike’s Striking Clothing Collection. Maria is now well prepared to not only dazzle the crowds with championship tennis playing, but with her stylish look on the court.
The deep purple dress is not the same as her day tennis dress. The design may seem similar in style with the sleeveless upper part and collar, but the buttons are gone. At the US Open, with dresses one can never go wrong. However, Sharapova’s night dress is nicer and more elegant, plus it follows the shape of her body better.
Nike is not only dressing Maria, but Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and new comer Li Na as well. The Nike Tennis Capsule Collection was created specifically for the US Open Tennis 2010. Nike took an extra step in creating a 2nd set of performance apparel for each player since there are so many dramatic moments that take place during the night games.
Nike adaptive designs will maximize the player’s performance and will keep at bay unpredictable temperature changes. In addition, with the quick transitions between participating in a court play and a court side audience, each piece of clothing was made to give a causal, relaxed look and feel.
The US Open Tennis 2010 Collection from Nike will be available in interval beginning this week at all Nike retail locations.

Caster Semenya was welcomed back to her home town last week, to celebration and dancing. After her long time away competing and staying in luxury hotels, South Africa and her people were there to welcome home their champion. Questions about her gender have plagued the track star for days, but once she stood in her home town, all of that tension seemed to melt away. Children from her town mobbed her, in the South African village of Ga Masehlong, this is a village wherein most houses do not have plumbing or electricity.
She had just finished running and winning the eight hundred meter race for the Women’s Championship in Germany. This is where the officials for the competition announced that Semenya should be tested, due to her muscle mass, her deep voice and the fact that her running times are so fast. In her small town however, which sits about one hundred and eighty miles outside of Johannesburg, neighbors and family members could not believe at just how much she had accomplished in the past few months.
They greeted her with a live band, and a tent was set up in her father’s yard for the celebrations. The children from her old school rushed to join in the festivities, one little girl stating that she wants to run like Semenya when she grows up. When Semenya emerged from her van, the band played, and about three hundred students were all dressed in blue. Speeches and songs were sung for close to two hours. She was given welcoming home presents, such as a laptop computer, and scholarship money to help her further her education. And a stadium nearby the town will be renamed after her. She expressed her gratitude to her town and to the officials, and they just stated that to celebrate in Semenya’s achievements was like celebrating the achievements of the entire village.
